Holidaymakers haven’t missed the boat for France

For families who want to hop across the Channel to Brittany in order to visit the beautiful coves and sandy beaches, sparkling sea, and lush green countryside, French Connections is currently offering a converted water mill that sleeps ten, boasts a big family kitchen and its own fishing lake, which is available in late July for around £680 per week. It’s so easy to get there; ferries sail regularly from Plymouth, Portsmouth and Cork, and it’s even feasible to take the Tunnel as Brittany is only a four or five hour drive from Calais.
Couples who yearn for luxury combined with tranquillity can still head for the glamorous South of France to stay at a sumptuous Maison d'Hote on Pampelonne Beach near Saint Tropez. For those who would rather not have a tranquil holiday, the golden sands at Saint Tropez also offer plenty of opportunity for windsurfing, sailing, canoeing, jet and water skiing. Rooms are available in July and August at about £260 a night B&B.
For a thoroughly active holiday, French Connections also has three luxury gîtes and a studio, each of which sleep two, in an architect designed converted barn in the beautiful Dordogne. Here, swimming in a private pool, walking, mountain biking, horse riding, canoeing and golf can all be enjoyed, as well as visiting the castles and Roman ruins for which the area is famed. Gites are around £350 a week
