Humnut Poised to be the Talk of the Town
Dublin, Ireland – August 2010
A REVOLUTIONARY service that offers free internet phone talk time to online shoppers is set to take the UK by storm.
Humnut.com, which allows its members to make calls to any landline or mobile phone in the world, believes it is unique and the only business of its kind.
And the Dublin-based company is keen to take the fight to the door of established rivals such as Skype.
People anywhere in the world can sign up to Humnut and can accumulate free webphone credits by buying items from large online retailers via links on the Humnut site.
Among Humnut’s partners are retail giants such as Amazon, Microsoft, Marks & Spencer and Sainsbury’s. A member spending £100 at Amazon via the Humnut website would receive £12 of free phone calls, which equates to 10 hours of talk time in the UK or USA.
Humnut spokesman Paul Murphy said: “There is no absolutely no catch at Humnut. We are able to pass on free calls through commissions earned when you interact with the online retailers our site.
“We will never ask you to pay for membership, pay for a call, ask for your credit card details, or ask you to enter into a contract or subscription. Also, our members do not need to download any specialised software. Our service is completely free.”
Members make their free calls from the Humnut website via its simple-to-use webphone. Users will always have 15 credits a month on their balance with one credit equalling one minute of calls to landlines and 10 credits getting callers one minute of calls to mobiles. The monthly balance is reset at 15 credits the following month.
Humnut has also developed an application for mobiles, which is available for the iPhone. Windows Mobile and Android. Users can download the Humnut app and access their free minutes on their mobile. They can then make the free call from their mobile, either over the 3G network or via wi-fi.
Paul added: “Online shopping is a growing phenomenon and is very much the way of the future. The cost of calling somewhere like Australia is very expensive, so we are offering a great incentive for people to go shopping via our site and earn free talk time.”
