Pressbox (Press Release) -
Social Media seems to be the buzz word of the moment online and in e-commerce with major sites such as Facebook and Twitter becoming a must have for online businesses. 2011 saw a real push on these two platforms for businesses with various online retailers setting up their branded interactive pages and starting to acquire fans and customers of their store or brand. Now that everyone is nicely ticking over with these two huge social sites the world is looking for more innovative ways to share their photos, thoughts, feelings and locations with their friends or chosen followers. Throughout the later half of 2011 Foursquare grew suitably in large towns and cities while early 2012 have seen a rise in the use of Pinterest and Instagram to show users more artistic and photographic side, allowing the public to appreciate and share others work.
Another massive name for late 2011 and early 2012 is Google+. Needing no introduction thanks to its massive brand name and recent series of television adds Google+ is having another bash at a social media platform and this time seem to be a lot more on the ball. With the ability to place people in circles and to choose who to share statuses with it avoids the potential problem of showing your boss those messy nights out pictures, or your parents seeing your expletive ridden rants at the TV or latest news story. Add to this the massive benefits in SERPS for owners of the business pages and before long you begin to see that Google+ is so important to businesses that they have to engage their customers, fans and visitors. The flipside is that the more of the general public that use the platform and spend their time ‘plus 1ing’ their favourite sites, articles, adverts and online stores the friends in your circles will see your recommendations, ensuring that less and less poorly run or even fake sites are used.
So with such a drastic rise in usage of new social sites expect to see a Trend Setting, rather than Following site like Mainline Menswear adopting the new sites and offering their fans many more opportunities to express their selves with their outfits, ideal fashions or what they want to see from the site. With Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+ already fully up and running for the brand there is much more in the pipeline for 2012 for their hoards of social, loyal and on trend fans and visitors.
