Washing Machines for good clothes

Added: (Wed Aug 27 2008)

Having a washing machine sure beats lighting a fire under the outside copper to boil clothes in like Granny did. This was dangerous work. Not only did she pollute the environment and use up trees with that wood fire, but she had to continually poke clothes down into the bubbling cauldron, and then lift them out with her copper stick into buckets to be hand rinsed - all with no rubber gloves.

While we appreciate all that hard work, we are thankful we don't have to follow suit. All we need to do is press a few buttons and when our trusty mechanical slave rings the bell, hang the washed clothes out on the line. We can choose between a top-loading machine and a front loader. Top loading washing machines are generally a bit faster - and if you forget an item you can pop it under the lid after the cycle has started.

The front loader cannot be opened once the cycle has started. The benefit of a front-loading washing machine is that it uses less water. That helps the environment and saves on water costs. They are a bit more expensive to purchase than the top loading machines. In the non-automatic washing machines, the twin-tub is a wonderful choice. It is heaps faster than the automatics and you can do ten loads in the same water. The only trouble is you need a strong back to lift wet clothes into the spin section - and the time to stand there and do it.

A good washing machine can be used to keep your clothing looking great, this is especially important with designer items like gucci shirts. See more clothing online http://au.shopping.com/xDN-Clothing
