POINT ROBERTS, WA, Delta, B.C. June 02, 2004 – Wild Heart Ranch is pleased to present a beautifully illustrated tale of courage and bravery. This summer, six mystical seahorses will be making the transition from earth to ocean, in the original story of “I Sea Horses!” illustrated by young talent, Callan Van Zant.
Never before has a tale been able to light up the imaginations and courage within children, to believe in the magic of the darkness and not be afraid. Young Callan, who is just 17 years of age, captivatingly illustrates the world of magical belief in a place where seahorses light up the darkness, beneath the depths of the ocean, which becomes their new and unexplored home! The tale draws children into the courage that the seahorses had to draw up, when they first went to live in depths below.
Originally inspired by Seattle based artist Kim McElroy, Callan depicts this world in a brilliant spectrum of color and oil pastels, striking a fine balance between creativity and inspiration that is sure to carry you into this mystical world!
A picture says a thousand words and this illustration taken from page 18 depicts the brave stallion named Pegasus, who “bravely led the way to the blue ocean’s shore.” Callan Van Zant’s debut, in this illustrated book, is sure to win the hearts of many readers and launch a stream of new editions to follow.
