Climate change has been going on for thousands of years - otherwise we would still be in the ice age. However, experts tell us that it is escalating and causing many dangerous situations such as a change in weather patterns and rising sea levels. Certainly we don't want to endanger mankind unnecessarily, so is it possible to stop it?

While it's important for everyone to be aware of their environment and the bad things (such as pollution) that are happening to it, all those other activities that are being promoted as good, such as using less of the earth's resources, will not make any significant impact on climate change. At least, not unless other events also happen - or stop happening.

These other events are the big changes that must happen to see any real impact on climate change. One of them is the wholesale destruction of natural forests. While ever forests and trees continue to be cut down at such a rate and not replanted, carbon dioxide in the atmosphere will keep on increasing. It is forests - trees that are actively growing - that have the ability to cleanse carbon dioxide from the air and release oxygen. By growing more trees - on a really large scale - climate change can be controlled.
