Creditplus Football Team Named Division 4 Champions

Pressbox (Press Release) - Creditplus have been named 5-a-side champions of the Pelhams Park Division 4 league. After 21 games Creditplus finished top of the league with 44 points. The side, which is predominantly made up of Creditplus car finance employees, have enjoyed a huge amount of success over the course of the season.

Creditplus are only in their second season of 5-a-side, but the team have clearly gelled well together. The combination of stubborn defence and clinical finishing has helped them to challenge all teams within the league. Consistency has led the team to the top of the table, a position they have occupied for long periods of the season.

An excellent run of form meant that the team have been unbeaten for nearly three months, winning 9 and drawing 1 of the last ten games played over this period. This run of form helped Creditplus to climb to the top of the table, a position they held for over a month. Although there has been strong competition in the league, Creditplus have managed to maintain their form throughout the winter months to the final game of the season.

The league was closely contested and it took the final game of the season to determine the league champion. Creditplus had to win their final game in order to win the league and managed this with a closely contested 4-3 win. The win meant that Creditplus stayed at the top of the table with 44 points from 21 games. The team scored 121 goals, the third highest in the league and only conceded 67 goals, the lowest number of any team in the league.

Mark Humphrys, Marketing Manager of Creditplus car finance providers and team manager of the Creditplus Football team stated: “We are delighted with the league result. We have played some really good football over the last three months and have ended up deserved winners of the league. It was a very close league and went right down to the last game, but we got the win we needed and continued our good form.”

Creditplus will now be playing in Division 3 next season. As one of the two promoted sides it will be a tough challenge for the team. It will be their third season playing together and the extra experience is likely to be vital to ensure that Creditplus are competitive in the higher league.

Mark Humphrys continued: “It is great that our football side has managed to replicate the success that Creditplus has seen as a business over the last year. We are looking forward to challenging ourselves in the higher league and hope to be challenging for honours again.”

As well as seeing success on the Football pitch Creditplus has had a successful year as a business. Car loan applications are up by 18% per cent year on year. Despite the economic uncertainty it is clear that consumers are still looking to buy new and used cars. 2012 is expected to see a further increase in finance applications providing clear signs that car finance is still a popular choice amongst consumers.
