MAKING A DIFFERENCE ONE BOOK AT A TIME

Southern California - Pamela Skaggs, has a dream of making a difference in peoples lives one book at a time. She took a step of faith and went out on a limb financially in 1999 when she quit her full time job to pursue a career as an author. Her first and second novels are currently available at bookstores, her third novel will be released March 19th and she is currently editing number four, Be Still My Past, while writing yet another.
"People have always told me I should write a book because of the experiences I have been through in life." A Southern California native, Pamela has used these life experiences as material for her books. While not autobiographical, she uses real life situations as topics to develop story lines. She has included personal European travel areas, as well as situations she has encountered raising five sons.
The title of her first book, Ronnie, A Story of Triumph is dedicated to her only brother, Ronald who past away after being in a coma for four years due to an accident. She chose the lead character's name of Veronica so she could nickname her Ronnie. Pamela's novel has been characterized as an inspirational survivor story. Her goal is to bring hope to those women struggling with whatever thorn in the flesh that is holding them back from obtaining their dreams.
Desires of the Heart, A Journey of Courage, her second novel touches on an extraordinary new cell memory theory for transplant patients that make you wonder if recipients are receiving more than just the organ donated. Her sixteen year old niece, was Pamela's inspiration, having gone through a bone marrow transplant for leukemia when only five.
Pamela wrote Ronnie in three months. She was able to obtain a publisher in four months after sending out numerous query letters. "I have worn the letters off my lap top." She says.
With her third novel, Visions of Truth, about a young American news correspondent that travels the world unveiling human rights issues, Pamela hopes to give those women a voice that have been silenced by fear. "There are so many horrible atrocities going on in our world today against woman that we remain blind to, due to our busy lives. These women and children are still out there." Pamela believes that possible she can create awareness with her book and bring to light those shadows that have remained hidden to long.
Her novels are about commitment, integrity and the healing power of love. Pamela is not sure where this journey will lead her but she is enthusiastic and excited about the life experience.
