Pressbox (Press Release) - Buying Solutions selects Brightwave and helps central and local government reduce procurement costs in advance of expected budget cuts

E-Learning Development Company of the Year, Brightwave, has been selected as an approved supplier for the prestigious public sector e-learning framework, Buying Solutions, which aims to improve value for money and efficiencies. This means that UK public sector organisations can commission e-learning without having to repeat burdensome procurement and assessment exercises, with the assurance that Brightwave meets the highest standards and delivers excellent value.

Brightwave, the UK's leading workplace e-learning specialist, is amongst a small number of suppliers appointed via the rigorous selection process. Brightwave creates engaging and high quality bespoke e-learning programmes, as well as ready-to-use learning and performance services for specific training needs and sectors. One example is the Local Government E-Learning Service which is the only tailored Local Government service available via Buying Solutions.

The Local Government E-Learning Service is currently being implemented by a group of Clyde Valley councils (Clyde Valley Learning and Development Group - CVLDG). The CVLDG has made considerable cost efficiencies for each council due to the collaborative approach in procurement and implementation. Brightwave is also working with the Home Office, Glasgow City Council and the Healthcare Commission.

Buying Solutions and Brightwave are meeting current public sector needs, as according to new research by Hays, the leading recruiting expert, 69 per cent of public sector managers believe the private sector has a role in helping the public sector meet its obligations. Furthermore, 63 per cent are already being encouraged to look outside the public sector for solutions to management and delivery problems.

Charles Gould, MD at Brightwave, said: "This is yet another endorsement of Brightwave's position as the leading provider of e-learning solutions in the UK. We are now ideally positioned to provide central and local government with our full range of e-learning services. At a time of public spending cuts, this framework will bring real savings by simplifying the procurement process and enabling our customers to access the very best suppliers with ease.

John Wilson, Category Specialist at Buying Solutions added: Were delighted to confirm that Brightwave today joins the Buying Solutions framework of approved suppliers to deliver e-learning services for the public sector.

Public sector organisations can use our free service to select from a growing range of suppliers to help them find the best partner, whilst making real time and cost efficiencies. All approved suppliers comply with statutory and legislative compliance and offer real value for money something thats becoming increasingly vital as the UK adapts to forthcoming budget cuts.

Brightwaves Local Government E-Learning Service enables every council to design, publish, track, assess and maintain e-learning in a secure, user-friendly and engaging manner. Designed to meet the needs of local government, the collaborative service allows organisations to share learning and knowledge. It helps councils avoid duplication, build capability and meet budget reduction targets.
