Pressbox (Press Release) -
Hailsham’s Town Council’s Square Youth Café got a major cash boost on Saturday 6th February, having been presented with a cheque for £750 by the Hailsham Rotary Club.
The award, which was used to purchase and install a flat screen television for the young people of Hailsham, was presented to youth workers by Rotary president Francis Hodge at their 1 Market Square 10th Anniversary Presentation.
Andy Joyes, youth project coordinator at the Square Youth Café said, “The cheque came as a surprise for us and the young people at ‘The Square’ are so excited about the new television, which will prove ideal for future presentations and for recreational viewing by young people. We are very grateful for this generous donation.”
He added, “Funding for ‘The Square’ is always needed in order to keep services running and to make sure that everyone gets the chance to use them. The £750 donation is a fantastic amount of money to make this happen.”
Francis Hodge of the Rotary Club, was delighted to present the award: “My fellow Rotary members and I were so impressed by the high level of community service undertaken by Andy and his staff at the Square Youth Café, that we decided to give this £750 donation. We are very supportive of youth services in Hailsham as a whole and look forward to helping out where we can in the future.”
