Pressbox (Press Release) -
Gemini Parking Solutions welcomes the clamping ban
On the 17th August, home office minister Lynne Featherstone announced a ban on wheel clamping which will be introduced in the government's freedom bill in November this year and put into play in early 2011.
Past efforts of curtailing the work of unofficial rogue-clampers has failed miserably and now both England and Wales will follow Scotland’s suit and ban clamping completely. Featherstone said ‘We keep trying to make this work - but it doesn't.’
Despite every best effort in the UK, unlicensed clamping companies have continued to operate on private land, charging exorbitant fees, with no license from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) and in turn have destroyed the perception of clamping in the public eye.
The clamping industry has been a truly difficult trade to work in, being described by some in the motoring trade as ‘demonic’.
At Gemini Parking Solutions, we welcome the new ban. Despite the clamping industry being a large part of our trade that has in turn enabled us to appease our large client base as well as minimise illegal parking (that undoubtedly has a negative affect on us all at some time or another).
At GPS, we intend to continue to provide our clients with the same professional, fair and successful services but by way of our ticketing solution systems, which have fantastic success rates in eradicating illegal parking from private land.
We look forward to this bright new future where landowners and motorists can both get what they want and deserve without the negative clamping cloud hanging over all of our heads.
If you would like more information on our licensed ticketing services, more details on our core values at GPS or for our views (in more detail) on the clamping ban, please call us today on 0871 200 2143.
We endeavour to banish the negative stigma attached to parking control systems.
Kindest regards, from all at Gemini Parking Solutions
