An installation of paintings by the artist Chitra Ramanathan is currently on display at the Chase Towers located in downtown Indianapolis from July 2006 through February 2007. This is a commission by the Arts Council of Indianapolis supported by the Indianapolis Arts Commission titled "Picture Windows 2006: Urban Interpretations", a public art project for which she have been selected to display five large paintings in her signature style of abstract painting for which she is known.
I am happy to let you know that I have just been notified that my work has been selected for the sixth edition of the Florence Biennale, December 1-9, 2007. As per Sarah Knight's suggestion, I have pasted my invitation to the Florence Biennale 2007. I had written to her about my being sponsored by Klipsch Technologies, who I gathered was one of the sponsors for the 2005 Biennale.

A professional artist and educator, the artist Chitra Ramanathan most known for her arge-scale, textural acrylic mixed media paintings. She has held successful solo and group exhibitions in Chicago and Broadway, SoHo Art Gallery district, New York, which have brought her recognition and good reviews from critics. Her paintings have been acquired by several public and private collections around the U.S. and in Europe.
Ramanathan's recent major corporate commission for the MGM Mirage Group entailed creating two 4' X 6' paintings which are on permanent display inside the Conservatory /Indoor Botanical Gardens of their Hotel Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada since October 2004.
Chitra Ramaanthan earned her Bachelors degree in Painting from the University of Madras, India, and a second Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting with Honours (1993) and Masters degree in Business Administration specializing in Museum Administration/Arts Management (1997), the latter two degrees from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a member of the College Art Association of America, New York.
