Line Dance Expats in Spain Release CD for Afghan Heroes

Pressbox (Press Release) - A group of line dancers and Country and Western enthusiasts on the Costa Blanca near Alicante were so moved by the newly formed charity Afghan Heroes that they have gotten together to release a single CD to raise money for the charity.

Last year, popular country singer Charles Cole of “Coles Country”, and Angie Evans, a fun loving line dance instructor, got together and sold a single CD, which raised over 600 Euros for the Marie Curie fund.

This year the Charity that was voted for was “Afghan Heroes”. This charity gives support to the families of the fallen heroes and helps soldiers who have served in Afghanistan. The Charity was formed by 7 women whose sons were all killed on July 9th and 10th this year, as they found that there was no support for the families of fallen heroes.

“The cause is so close to many of our members’ hearts” says Jackie Lawson, whose husband is a civilian who has worked in Afghanistan for nearly 2 years.

“We all know someone who is out there, sons and daughter as well as husbands and grandchildren. We all live in fear everyday that we will get the phone call that we never want to receive. Those who are dying are just babies really, and it is hard to imagine what it is like to have your world fall to pieces just because your loved one is brave enough to fight for us.“

The line dance group, who call themselves “Charlie’s Angels”, in honour of Charles Cole, like to have fun and with Angie Evans teaching classes, there is certainly lots to be had.

The CD, due to be released on October 1st will be called “He Drinks Tequila (And She Talks Dirty in Spanish)”. The cd will include the line dance steps, so there is no excuse for not dancing to it! “He Drinks Tequila” will sell in Spain for 5 Euros. And the first print is expected to sell out very quickly, as the CD is only available until the end of December.

Great interest has been shown for the single in Kandahar Air Field in Afghanistan, so as a special concession to all the hundreds of civilians as well as military who are in the field, the CD will cost $5 and will be shipped from Spain free of charge.

“We want to raise a ton of money for our lads, lasses and their families and let them know that we are thinking of them.

This an ideal Christmas present – one that is fun and shows that you care! In fact the first person to be getting an early Christmas Present from us will be HRH Prince Harry. I am sure he will enjoy the music and appreciate that the support for our troops is worldwide.”

Over 100 of the CDs have been pre-ordered by fans and the first run of 400 is expected to sell out within the week.

Anyone who wants to experience the live performance by Charles Cole and Angie Evans will find them on” U-Tube”. With Charles Cole wearing his sombrero and Angie Evans wearing her “Purty pink pyjamas” it won’t be long before you are calling out the catch phrase, “Janice? Who the hell is Janice?”
