Pressbox (Press Release) -
A new online recruitment service is being established in the Midlands. Serving the European Gateway towns of Mullingar, Athlone and Tullamore and their surrounds, Midlandjobs.ie is the only online job-board dedicated to this emerging region. The venture is the creation of local recruitment professional Tom Griffith, who manages the website from his home in Mullingar town.
Having worked as a Recruitment Consultant in the area for the past 3 years, Tom is all too aware of the difficulties facing local employers in attracting the right staff. He categorises the main problems as follows:
Cost: Local employers are often shocked by the various costs inherent to the recruitment process - advertising costs, agency fees, a hiring manager’s time and the indirect cost of down-time before a new starter takes up a vacancy.
Time pressure: From the point when the recruitment decision is taken to the time an appointment is actually made can often take on average 6-8 weeks, depending on the type of job.
Shortage of available talent: As job roles are becoming more specialised and technical, searching, screening and matching can cause a hiring manager many headaches.
Midlandjobs.ie aims to tackle these “roadblocks” head-on and provide a genuinely value-added service to local employers. By keeping their own costs under strict control, Midlandjobs.ie can pass on significant savings to their customers. A Midlandjobs employer can self-administer a new vacancy to the listings in a matter of minutes, at any time of the day or night by accessing the system with their own user name and password. This action triggers a job alert to be sent to candidates already registered on the database, which can result in immediate applications - relevant to the vacancy both in terms of suitable keyword matches and crucially, in terms of location. These value-added efficiencies which have been designed into the process by hosting company Zero-One Design based in Tamworth, will also benefit candidates ensuring they too have a positive experience of the service. Referrals to the site are being developed from both online and offline sources across a variety of advertising and media channels.
