Vietnam travel is becoming more and more popular, with the latest figures showing visitor numbers between July 2007 and July 2008 to be over 2.6 million, a 10% rise on the previous period. In the coming 6 months total visitors for 2008 are expected to top 5 million.

Vietnam sees a large number of tourists from ASEAN countries such as China, Singapore, Korea and Japan, and an ever increasing number from the US, France and the rest of Europe. Over the past few years it has changed from a country with a lot of history but few visitors to a major destination in South East Asia, popular with backpackers and package tourists alike.

Vietnam has many popular tourist destinations including several UNESCO world heritage sites, such as the beautiful ancient town of Hoi An, the imperial capital of Hue and the stunning and unique Halong Bay. as well as the thriving cities of Saigon and the beautiful capital, Hanoi
