Corporate Housing shortage. Companies turn to the private market place

Pressbox (Press Release) -
Human Resource (HR) departments within large companies are increasingly
turning to the private marketplace to house staff relocating or
training, as a result of insufficient availability of corporate
apartments in the UK. The Apartment Service, which is Europe's largest
booker of serviced apartments, has developed a centralised Register of
private properties to assist landlord and client.
The Short Let Register launched in November 2000, is entirely web-based
and managed from Bristol in the UK by Natalie Wakefield. The site is now
well-established as a helpful and free resource for private landlords,
lettings agents, individuals and companies.
"The secret of our success is that we work within a very tight niche
market and assist rather than compete with traditional accommodation
suppliers," explains Ms Wakefield. "We believe our on-line statistics
speak for themselves".
The Short Let Register attracts 87% of its traffic from search engines
and links. 78% of users are looking for a flat or apartment, 74% in the
south of England (51% south-east and 23% south-west). 74% require this
accommodation for a maximum of 6 months.
