eBusiness UK has earned a coveted Big Chip Ten award in recognition of the specialist search engine optimisation techniques it has developed.
The Lancashire-based web company picked up the award after one if its client’s stories impressed the judging panel – that of RU Comfy which, thanks to eBusiness UK, has cut tens of thousands of pounds from its advertising bill whilst also seeing an increase in orders.
The prize was presented at a showcase dinner held in Manchester - hosted by TV’s Terry Christian and also played out online on the revolutionary Second Life website.
eBusiness UK was commended for its innovative use of search engine optimisation, meaning that RU Comfy, a beanbag furniture company, was able to cut advertising spend by £50,000.
In the first six months, eBusiness UK managed to increase RU Comfy’s first page listings of the chosen keywords from 197 to 396 listings, including 103 number one listings.
Successful generic keywords include bean bags, bean-bags, beanbags, children’s beanbags, waterproof beanbags and leather beanbags. These are highly ranked on major search engines such as Google, Ask and Yahoo.
The campaign proved massively successful and helped drawn in so much business that RU Comfy was able to dramatically reduce its spend on PPC. It slashed its annual bill to £70,000 a year and plans to reduce this spend by a further £20,000 a year as a direct result of its search engine success.
Kam Kothia, managing director of eBusiness UK, said: “We are very proud of the award. Big Chip is an important brand in our industry, and to take the award home to East Lancashire ahead of all the city-based agencies which usually dominate is a feather in our cap.”
RU Comfy’s Geoff Jnr said: “Our business was originally built around supplying the large chain stores but now a huge percentage is generated through our website – incorporating both online sales and increased footfall to our factory shop.
“The internet has provided us with a whole new market, and eBusiness UK’s search engine optimisation has managed to cut our advertising bills by tens of thousands of pounds a year and yet we are still enjoying increased sales.
Geoff added: “Cutting costs and seeing a greater return on investment is what it is all about.”
Operating nationally, eBusiness UK has a head office in Lancashire and franchised offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow. More details of the company and information about how online marketing can help your business, can be found at www.ebusinessuk.com
