Studio B teams up with Smush Media to produce David Moreno’s first Yoga Video now on DVD

Pressbox (Press Release) - Berkeley, CA – Studio B Films teamed up with Smush Media to produce world-renowned yoga instructor David Moreno’s first set of instructional videos for DVD: Deep Flow Yoga: Lateral Sequence and Wheel of Yoga for Cyclists. For decades, yogis worldwide have followed the guidance of master instructor David Moreno, attending his coveted courses at international conferences, festivals, retreats and workshops. With his faithful followers clamoring for an instructional video, Studio B and Smush Media were asked to produce these long-awaited DVDs.

Even though David Collier, founder and owner of Studio B, has been friends with Jennifer Steinman for years, this was Studio B’s first collaboration with Smush Media. “I always enjoy shooting fitness videos since the process inspires my own athletic practice and yoga studies,” says David Collier, DP of Deep Flow Yoga and Wheel of Yoga. “With each shoot, I learn something new, not only as a yoga practitioner, but as a video director as well.”

Of his new videos, Moreno says “I can now offer something that is authentic to what currently keeps me passionate about yoga and what I value most about teaching.”

With the popularity of instructional yoga videos on the rise, and the Bay Area’s reputation for some of the best yoga classes in the US, Collier anticipates Studio B will be shooting more such videos in the near future. “ Though it’s a big investment – $25-$30,000 – it ultimately helps strengthen business for instructors and is an effective portfolio of their teaching practices.”

For yoga teachers who are considering taking Moreno’s lead and the financial leap to producing their own videos, Collier has a few words of advice: “It's important that your fitness video stands out from the clutter and has a unique niche market. For example: pre-natal yoga, yoga for cyclists, cross-training in winter or hula-hooping fitness for everyone.  There is a fine line between a broad appeal and finding a good niche audience so be sure you know you’ve got a viable market before the cameras roll.”
