Field Buddy Pro helps student, amateur and professional scientists record field samples through an innovative user interface, making use of the iPhone’s camera and GPS capabilities to capture detailed information in the field for later analysis. The latest release improves image processing speed and efficiency and provides a more streamlied user interface.

Recording Sample Information

Field Buddy Pro makes it easy to count field samples for school or college assignments, amateur and professional studies in biology, ecology, botany, geography, geology, or any other displicine requiring field sampling. Key functions include:

* Touch based counting with haptic notifcation of 10’s
* Zero, minus one, and reset
* Sample geolocation using the iPhone’s built in GPS
* Sample duration timing using a bespoke timer
* Site photography using the iPhone’s built in camera

Saving and Sharing Data

All Sample data can be saved to an onboard SQLite database and updated on the iPhone, in the field, including dates, durations, the location and photo images. Data can also be mailed off the phone to any standard email account using in-app email capability for later analysis. This makes it possible to share information with team members back at the lab or office without having to quit the application.

Straightforward task tracking

Field Buddy Pro also contains an in-app field checklist to record key tasks to be completed in a study, tasks can be assigned a title, description and priority and be marked as open or complete, allowing the user to see the status of their tasks at a glance, and once again, all in-app.
