Parental Problem-Solving Evenings
The Calcioli Field Practice, a Life Improvement Centre, today announced the launch of The East Grinstead Happier Families Club. On Monday evenings, parents will have the opportunity to hear vital tips on how to live with children, especially their own!, helping their child to do better at school and how generally to improve family life. Admission is free and the talks are held at the Calcioli Field Practice in Wealden House on the Lewes Road on Monday evenings.
"Certain aspects of family life can cause a great deal of stress to people and it's devastating when upsets become the norm or when a parent and a child drift apart and the family splits up," says Caroline Wood, mother of three. "Parenthood is certainly something for which we receive no training and yet with it comes an enormous responsibility. Indeed, today's parents are responsible for tomorrow's society so our aim is to help out those parents who need a hand."
The first talk entitled, “Signs which may indicate that your child is using drugs”, is being held on Monday 19 May 2003. "On a national level, nearly half of all 16 year olds have tried drugs at least once; and more than 30% of people arrested have a heroin or crack addiction. Unfortunately, East Grinstead has its fair share of these statistics," Caroline adds, "so we thought this was a good place to start."

The Calcioli Field Practice offers one-to-one counselling and runs lectures and courses on many aspects of life to help resolve problems people face, no matter what they may be. The methods used are based on the works of L.Ron Hubbard.
