I'm A Celebrity Dog , Get Me In There!
Added: (Fri May 09 2003)
~~Begins~~
It seems Daniella Westbrook is not the only Eastenders celebrity who prefers the comfort of a 5-star hotel to fleabites and smelly sleeping bags. One of her former co-stars has also decided to book in for some luxury relaxation therapy of his own.
He may never have been addicted to anything stronger than chocolate drops and he’s unquestionably in possession of a surgery-free nose but here’s a celebrity with a bigger secret than most - he, is in fact a she – and always has been.
Rugged good looks, the husky voice and a regular all action role as a character in the UK’s top soap opera for more than nine years. Did anyone even notice Wellard the dog is more bitch that Kat Slater?
With a hectic celebrity schedule and gender-bending role as Robbie Jackson’s jilted dog Wellard, Kyte the Belgian Shepherd, has booked herself a luxury holiday in the canine equivalent of St Tropez.
Pet Stop Tours, a company described as ‘Club 18-30 For Pet Owners’ will be pampering Kyte in the pet-friendly surroundings of Bakewell in the East Midlands.
The East Midlands has recently undertaken a major tourism initiative aimed at encouraging the UK’s 8 million pet owners to take more short-breaks in the UK without the trauma of having to their four-legged family members behind.
Kyte will be treated to a stay in top-class hotel accommodation as well as a host of activities designed for dogs and owners including a pet-pub quiz.
For anyone wanting to meet Wellard and enjoy a unique holiday with their dog there are a limited number of tickets still available. Further information can be found at www.petstoptours.co.uk or by calling 0870 9914399.
