Local Recycling Company Supports Local Charities

Added: (Wed May 05 2004)

Local printer cartridge recycling company, Cartridge Express, is offering environmentally conscious organisations the opportunity to get rid of their used printer cartridges and donate money to charity in one fell swoop.

The city centre-based business recycles toner and inkjet cartridges to produce re-manufactured cartridges. This process ensures that the 250 million print cartridges that were dumped in UK landfill sites over the past 10 years are reduced, thus protecting the environment for years to come.

Now Cartridge Express has devised an extra reason for people to recycle their cartridges. The company is giving you the chance to donate your printer cartridges in aid of three very worthy charities that operate in the Leeds area. Cartridge Express is supporting Children in Crisis, St Gemma’s Hospice and Martin House Hospice for Children & Young People.

Children in Crisis operates on a world-wide scale to improve the standard of living for children affected by conflict, depravation and poverty. In the Leeds area it promotes a drug and alcohol awareness scheme encouraging primary school children to make positive decisions about their lifestyles.

St Gemma’s Hospice, based in Moortown provides specialist palliative medical and nursing care to local people with life threatening illnesses. The award-winning Hospice provides all care free of charge to patients and their families whether they are an in-patient, out-patient, visit the Day Hospice or are visited at home by a Community Nurse.

Martin House is Yorkshire’s first hospice providing care and support, free of charge, to children and young people with a life-limiting condition. The hospice offers help in emergencies, symptom control, nursing and practical care, terminal care and bereavement support. Martin House supports children and their families from across the Yorkshire region.

Cartridge Express Managing Director, Jeff Brook says, At Cartridge Express we realise that most charities are sadly under funded; donating printer cartridges is an environmentally friendly free way of raising vital funds and helping these charities to continue to do their valuable work. We strongly feel that no matter what the cause together we can make a difference

If you would like to recycle your printer cartridges in aid of one of these good causes, or if you would merely like to find out how you can recycle your printer cartridges, please contact Cartridge Express directly on 0113 242 6001 email: empties@cartridgeexpress.net or visit our website: http://www.cartridgeexpress.net
