Students across Wales are rejoicing thanks to efforts of one Newport Graduate. Andrew Cargill who previously studied a BA (Hons) in Animation at the University of Wales Newport, is about to launch a brand new website called iGotMunchies, which is tipped to be 'the next big thing'.
"iGotMunchies is a search engine for take away menus. Which is made by students for students", says Andrew.
The site aims at solving what many students believe is life's biggest problem. The loss of a take out menu. "I've often been sat in the kitchen with a few mates, desperately wanting a kebab after a night out, but can't find a menu. iGotMunchies will stop this from ever been a problem again." Ashley Taylor a student from Newport said. iGotMunchies was created in such a way to allow any one from around the country the opportunity to upload their favourite kebab menu. That menu will then be searchable for the rest of the World to see and saved online forever.
iGotMunchies is expecting to receive an astonishing 40,000+ hits a week come September says Andrew, "We are predicting the site to receive at-least 40,000 hits a week, by the time the next academic year begins. It could potentially be thousands more, as our current stats our only based on 2% of the nations students using the site". Already many of the big universities from around the country have expressed interest in the site. Including the University of Wales, Newport, Sheffield Hallam, University of Sterling and the University of Bath.
Andrew intends to grow the business by allowing takeaways from around the country the opportunity to purchase sponsored listings. Which work in a similar fashion to that of the Worlds largest search engine Google.
This isn't the first time Andrew has showcased his entrapuneral talents. In November last year Andrew and business partner Tony Lane attempted to break the World record for the most amount of Zombies in one place at one time, to promote their first ever feature film, 'The Invasion of the not quite dead!'. Although they didn't quite break the record they did set a Welsh one.
