Anevia and at-visions announce a technology partnership for ONEvision hotel TV

Pressbox (Press Release) - Anevia, a leader in video streaming solutions and service infrastructure for live TV and Video on Demand (VOD) and at-visions, a leading provider of worldwide IT-services in the hospitality industry, today announced a technology partnership for ONEvision hotel TV.

ONEvision combines Anevia’s IPTV head end and at-visions’ Multimedia and Business Appliance in a single, easy-to-use solution that provides high performance video streaming, set-top-box functions and sophisticated branding capabilities for the hospitality market.

To provide live TV and video on demand services, hotels and other hospitality establishments deploy end-to-end IPTV solutions that integrate a variety of technological components. Two key components are the IPTV head end and the set-top box. ONEvision is an innovative, high performance ecosystem that combines these two components in one package using technologies from two of the industry’s leading suppliers, at-visions and Anevia.

The head end component is built on Anevia’s Flamingo 660 and Toucan 500 products that are fully integrated into ONEvision. The Flamingo 660 encapsulates live TV channels into IP and streams them to at-visions’ Multimedia & Business Appliance (MMBA). The Toucan 500 is a video server that provides added value video services with features such as VoD, personal recording, Catch-up TV and playlist. Content is streamed through at-visions’ MMBA, a Thin Client PC that provides all the functions of a set-top-box but also enables hotels to brand services more flexibly and effectively.

The luxury hospitality industry, for example, invests a lot of money in branding and the usual TV menus delivered by set-top-boxes clash horribly with this branding. We set much higher requirements in our graphical user interface, with sophisticated graphics, transparency and overlay. We offer an integrated internet browser and a series of applications like YouTube, Twitter™, Facebook and so on. If a hotel decides to integrate our MMBA in his own hotel-branded display, the name “Set-Top-Box” is, moreover, just plain wrong,” says Mag.
