Added: (Wed Aug 02 2006)
EMS-Cortex, an IT company with over 8 years experience in servicing telecommunications and service providers, today announced its latest release, Cortex Release 6.0.
Cortex Release 6.0
Release 6.0 is a major release which features a number of major architectural changes. The key aim of these changes has been to make the product more adaptable to service providers and resellers.
Provisioning across Active Directory Boundaries
Cortex can now support multiple active directories. A single Cortex instance can manage resources in multiple Active Directories. This allows service providers to offer a cost effective dedicated hosting solution or to even manage a customers Active Directory remotely.
Added support for multiple instances of services for each customer
Services flagged as multi-instancing can now be provisioned to customers multiple times. For example, you are no longer constrained to provisioning a single Sharepoint site per customer.
Reducing time to implement new services
Cortex allows services to be defined quickly with minimal need for custom code.
Simplified migration process and better reseller white labeling
The internal storage structure used by Cortex has been improved to increase flexibility. The redesign enables granular control over service related settings. Increased flexibility in configuration of service packages makes migration to the Cortex platform a straightforward exercise.
Increasing support for Microsoft Exchange
Support for Microsoft Exchange has been further enhanced with added features for mailbox and public folder resource management. Service providers can choose whether or not to constrain resources on a customer by customer basis. Customers can be allocated a block of mailbox resource which they can then share out amongst their users in whatever configuration suits the individual customer.
Support for provisioning of Blackberry Enterprise 4.1
Cortex now supports provisioning of Blackberry which adds value to a standard Hosted Exchange offering.
Provisioning of the first ERP system
In the APAC region, the Exonet ERP system can now be provisioned by Cortex and, this incorporates Citrix and SQL server provisioning processes.
