Tuesday 2nd August 2006 11:00am
Portset Systems Ltd are delivering their new Digital Media Centre which incorporates the acclaimed Nebula Electronics DigiTV Digital TV receiver.
The Portset Digital Media Centre is specifically designed to make digital Freeview services of television, radio and teletext accessible to the blind and visually impaired. Program information and user key action is provided with high quality speech messages spoken to the user.
The result is a simple and totally user accessible form of all Program information either from the integral keyboard or from the remote control.
The System also uses Nebula Electronics 'Audio Description' Module that allows for a broadcast narrator to describe the scene being shown on TV on an audio stream that viewers normally don't get to hear.
The Digital Media Centre functions as a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) as well, and makes it easy to digitally record TV or radio programmes. It comes with an integrated Music CD, MP3 and Daisy Talking Book Player. It also features a fully accessible DVD player that automatically plays Audio Description content.
Nebula Electronics Ltd has been producing high quality Digital TV reception equipment for PCs since 2002. The company has a policy of allowing maximum disabled accessibility to broadcast services.
Portset Systems Ltd specialises in the production of hardware and software specifically for the visually impaired.
