Total Network Inventory 4 Gets Asynchronous, Visualizes Network Topology.

Added: (Fri Jan 18 2019)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Softinventive Lab announces the release of Total Network Inventory 4, a major update to the company’s software inventory management solution for local area networks. The update adds the ability to visualize network infrastructure by creating a map of network topology. In addition, Total Network Inventory 4 enables asynchronous scanning of SNMP devices, allowing to perform asset scans faster, in the background.

“TNI 4 is the most feature-rich, stable and reliable version of Total Network Inventory so far”, says Dmitry Komov, Softinventive’s CEO. “We overhauled vital program components and improved the way the data is stored, how the assets are imported, matched and merged. Additional safeguards were put in place to ensure that critical operations are always performed in sync with each other. Countless hours were spent fine-tuning and optimizing every major system component, from the network scanner to settings.”

Visualizing Network Assets
Total Network Inventory 4 adds the ability to create visual maps of the customer’s network infrastructure. Simple maps, as well as multiple-level and segmented maps, are available to help manage various sub-nets, floors and departments, as well as local and remote virtual private networks. The user can create a separate map for every office floor, visualize the layout of the server room’s equipment, or make a global map to showcase all of the company’s international branches. Every map can be individually configured with multiple nodes and connections representing network objects, assets and groups. Full drag and drop support is available for easier editing. Various colours, labels and shapes can help make your map more convenient or attractive.

Asynchronous SNMP Scanning
Total Network Inventory 4 brings another optimization trick to the table by implementing true asynchronous SNMP asset scanning. The new asynchronous asset scanner can look for many assets at once without having to wait for each part of the job to complete. This asynchronous scanning engine can significantly improve the scanning performance compared to consecutive single-threaded jobs.

Performance and Stability Improvements
Last but not least, Total Network Inventory 4 brings multiple stability and performance improvements, making it the most robust version of Total Network Inventory ever. There are multiple improvements to the scanner, settings, AD sync, searching and filtering, and to the scanning engine of SNMP-enabled devices.
