IBA Organizes Faculty Development Program on SEM Tools

Added: (Sat Jan 05 2019)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Bangalore, January, 2019: Indus Business Academy, is organizing a Faculty Research Development Program on Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) Tools on 12th January, 2019 at the IBA Bangalore campus. Prof. Sanjit Kumar Roy, Senior Lecturer (Marketing), University of Western Australia is the program facilitator.

This is the first in the series of Faculty Research Development Programs (FRDPs) that will be presented by IBA in 2019. This FRDP has been designed and developed to provide faculty, management scholars and doctoral fellows of leading management schools, universities, and research institutions with the knowledge and tools to independently investigate complex causal relationships in social and behavioral sciences.

This FRDP has a focus on advancing the knowledge on Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) which is one of the most powerful multivariate analysis techniques used to analyse structural relationships. SEM is a collection of statistical techniques that allow examination of a set of relations between one or more independent variables and one or more dependent variables. It aids in testing multiple dependencies and interdependencies between different latent variables. SEM helps researchers working in multi-disciplinary and cross-disciplinary areas to better define the problem and examine results with deeper insights. Analysis of a Moment Structures (AMOS) as a special tool has gained popularity in different fields of research and in practice viz. psychology, healthcare, social sciences, market research and organizational research. This course is designed to offer essential skills in using SEM-AMOS tools for in-depth data analysis.

This one day program endeavours to cover the following areas:

● Introduction to structural equation modelling
● Introduction to confirmatory factor analysis
● Working with AMOS
● Cases and scenarios where structural Equation Modelling succeeds
● How SEM results can be used in research scenarios across various fields

IBA endeavours to continually improve the delivery and content of the FRDPs and similar research workshops, and to make them relevant to the needs of research community.
