Added: (Tue Nov 22 2022)

Pressbox (Press Release) - Bristol’s Sarah Henley not only writes for the transgender community but she also shines a light of hope for anyone struggling with their identity.
The 70-year-old former electrical engineer has endured a lifetime of resistance before finally being accepted as a woman.
Sarah, who has six children and 10 grandchildren, has just published the long-awaited conclusion to her gripping and five-star-rated transgender trilogy.
Gabrielle is another fabulous slice of trans adventure as her lesbian protagonists fight for each other and themselves.
Fighting is something the author is accustomed to – having been admitted to a psychiatric unit as a child after suicide attempts coming from issues with her gender.
Sarah explained: “The main character of Gabrielle is based upon myself, having become aware at an early age that I was born into the wrong body.
“My first double suicide attempt, one day after another, aged 7˝.
“Aged 12, my father forced my mother to take me to a child psychiatrist to make me well.
“I was kept in hospital for two weeks, and was dressed as a girl, put on a bed, strapped down had electrodes strapped to my head, which had been shaved for the electrodes.
“Then I was repeatedly told, upon wearing any female clothes, I would remember this, an electric shock that went right through my body and hurt my brain.
“That’s what all of us went through in our early years, if you saw a child psychiatrist, they were certain we would be cured and be the man or boy we were born as.
“So the character of Gabrielle is based on myself and my early life as a Trans boy/girl.”
Sarah’s latest book concludes the page-turning story of trans Gabrielle and her lesbian lover Lynda Grayson as they attempt to stay ahead of a transgender group who want to enslave them.
As with the previous parts of the trilogy, Gabrielle is full of romance, excitement, lesbian sex and gunfights.
Sarah said: “Gabrielle, once a man called Paul, is thrilled with her new sex and body, as this is what she has always wanted to be.”
Prior to writing transgender novels, Sarah was a renowned science fiction author, working as the managing editor of the Odyssey newsletter.
She was also awarded the Sir Patrick Moore Medal in 2015 for services to the Odyssey Society.
Sarah added: “I changed my writing from pure science fiction to transgender romance, as there did not appear to be many authors out there who write for the transgender male-to-female market.
“Men still like a gunfight, or a strong male oriented theme to run through the book, or right through the trilogy.
“This I have done, with romance included for the more feminine transgenders, or female to male transgenders, so both sides are included in my story.”
Since its recent release Gabrielle has reached number five in the transgender book charts.
