Gloucestershire writer’s gripping new thriller

Added: (Thu Jun 01 2023)

Pressbox (Press Release) - A former engineering company MD from Gloucestershire admits his debut novel is ideal for a nerdy audience.
Kim David’s Quantum Regression is a gripping and highly-imaginative time-travelling thriller.
But it is also packed with technical and scientific detail.
Kim explained: “Only one other family member read Quantum Regression before it went to print, and they found it complicated and technical.
“I believe it will suit a quite nerdy audience who would enjoy the technology concepts and have a leap of imagination to go along with the concept.”
Despite his own warning, Quantum Regression is already racking up five-star reviews from captivated readers.
Kim’s debut novel follows the fortunes of unlikely hero Harry as he is recruited into the secret government agency, SITAR.
The former soldier’s impending death makes him an ideal recruit for SITAR agents operating 60 years in the future.
While the time-travelling element of Quantum Regression may be difficult for some, Kim’s story-telling ability will keep readers hooked well into the future.
Undercover cops, espionage, drug runners and criminal gangs are all targets for Harry in this pulsating novel.
And Kim, whose favourite authors include Jasper Fforde and Jo Nesbo, is also proud of the science.
He added: “Quantum Regression is about a government agency, SITAR, that identifies and exploits the concept of being able to send digital data back in time.
“Whilst it is clearly impossible that Marty McFly can ever jump into a time machine and go back in time, it is theoretically possible for Biff to send his younger self the almanac that made him rich.
“SITAR sets up technology early in the 21st century to receive data from the future, when technology allows for it to do so, and recruits Harry to act on this information to keep the technology safe.
“The technology featured in Quantum Regression is in the embryonic stages of being proven as a matter of public record.
“However the projection of where this technology might lead is conjecture.”
Although Kim has written several short stories in the past, it was only when approaching early retirement at 60 that he focussed on his first novel.
The 63-year-old father of two is currently working on a sequel to Quantum Regression with a third part of a trilogy in the planning stages.
