Pressbox (Press Release) - Hertfordshire building surveyor Keith Pulver knows all about bouncing back.
The 62-year-old lost both of his parents when he was just 20, yet still went on to create and run a highly successful company.
And much more recently, when his company was forced to close due to problems finding indemnity insurance cover the grandfather-of-two used the disappointment as inspiration for writing his first novel.
Revenge is Better than Murder has just been published to a string of five-star reviews from captivated readers.
Keith’s explosive debut has been described by critics as ‘highly recommended’, ‘what a book’, and ‘couldn’t put it down’.
One reviewer stated: “…ticks every box for a wonderful read.”
Revenge is Better than Murder follows the fortunes of an eminent Harley Street surgeon who is refused indemnity cover by an insurance firm.
After going through the disappointment of watching his clinic close, Professor Emerson Noble is hell-bent on exposing the corruption behind the unexpected insurance decision.
With the help of a private investigator and a computer hacker, the surgeon wades into a sinister world where cash is king.
Keith said: “Revenge is Better than Murder is about a surgeon who is refused professional indemnity insurance to operate following an operation where he made an error.
“He is shocked by the decision and finds out that the person who makes the decisions is corrupt and that she and her crime team, including a corrupt high-ranking police officer and a serial killer, demand money from other surgeons and doctors, in a similar situation for them to carry on working.
“The idea for the book was based on my surveying business being forced to close due to being refused professional indemnity insurance – the only difference is that I didn’t make an error, or kill anyone!”
Prior to writing Revenge is Better than Murder, Keith extensively researched policing, the illegal drugs trade and underworld weapons.
His meticulous approach has led to him producing a gripping thriller, which has readers already demanding more.
Although still working full-time, Keith is continuing to dedicate his weekend mornings to research and writing.
His second novel, featuring several characters from Revenge is Better than Murder will hopefully hit the shelves next year.
