Pressbox (Press Release) - Patience is a virtue that Peter Barr fans require in abundance.
The must-read author from the Middlesex has finally concluded his gripping, psychological trilogy almost a decade after it all began.
The Way Back has now been released to five-star reviews.
But readers have been waiting for four years since the previous instalment to find out if struggling writer Julian finally overcomes his demons and makes it into print.
Peter said: “The Way Back is the concluding part of the trilogy.
“It tells the story of someone hoping to achieve a long held ambition to become a successful writer - describing the highs and lows of his journey.
“Not everyone wants him to succeed and there are times when he flounders in the depths of despair, with his nemesis shadowing his every move, trying to stay a step ahead.
“He has known the depths of despair but support from friends had helped him recover.
“Now with a taste of success fresh in mind the realisation of his dream lies within his grasp.
“At this late stage he can’t afford for anything to stop him.
“There were those who wanted him to succeed but from the shadows his every move was being tracked.”
Peter burst onto the book scene back in 2013 with the publication of his critically-acclaimed debut, Ghosts Don’t Bleed.
The success of his first novel, led the father-of-two to write and release a sequel in 2018, The Revenge of Lilly.
Inspired by writers such as John Grisham, Lee Childs and Ian Rankin, the 76-year-old has demonstrated a masterful ability to thriller writing.
With The Way Back, Peter has yet again produced a highly addictive narrative with convincing characters and unexpected twists.
He admits picking up the pen later in life has given him a thrill.
Peter, who enjoyed a successful career in the public sector, explained: “I was a late starter when it came to writing.
“I was in my early 40s when I first picked up my pen.
“Raising our family with my wife has to be my greatest achievement along with seeing Ghosts Don't Bleed in print.”
